  • Description
Lung Cancer Deaths reports the number, crude rate, and age-adjusted mortality rate (AAMR) of deaths due to lung cancer.
  • Full Description
Lung cancer forms in tissues of the lung, usually in the cells lining air passages. Deaths with ICD-10 code C34 as the underlying cause of death are recorded as lung cancer deaths. The age-adjusted mortality rate (AAMR) controls for the impact of different age structures in order to better evaluate risk levels that are independent of the age composition of the population. Connecticut Department of Public Health collects data annually. CTdata.org carries five year aggregations of annual data.
